Arctic vs. Antarctic

These are pictures and impressions of a journey which took Wolfgang Zankl, a Marathon Runner and Professor at the University of Vienna, to running the Arctic and Antarctic within a month in order to stand up for the "freedom of exchance of information" he has been quoted for by the New York Times

Arctic and Antarctic regions are often referred too as being completely different. The pictures on this site indicate a situation quite contrary: the opposite ends of our planet are sharing much more than the cold. And Wolfgang Zankl will thus not only show what these places have in common but but also explain how important it is to deal with these sensible environments in the same way in terms of legal protection. You are invited to take a look at the fascinating pictures and the story of the journey. Furthermore it wil be shown why and how the world famous painter Arnulf Rainer expressed the Arctic & Antarcit Run artistically.
